“I am sick of Leeds United playing fair, just tsunami the Championship” – Shots fired at ‘cheating’ Chelsea, Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest

Everyone associated with Leeds United are on edge after the side dropped more points on Saturday. Automatic promotion is in jeopardy, and Leeds’ terrible record in the playoffs means there is a real sense of doom and gloom around the club. However, Chelsea’s financial trickery to balance their books has angered one Leeds journalist who is tired of clubs cheating and not getting punished.

Leeds United are still second in the table, and there is still hope that they will do enough in the remaining seven Championship games to get promoted, with the side set to face Luton on Saturday.

However, failure could have major consequences on the club as the Premier League’s parachute payments will stop this year, and Leeds could be forced to sell key players in the summer to bring down their wage bill to align with the Championship’s financial rules.

But Dan Moylan is tired of Leeds playing by the rules and pointed out that Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa smashed those rules when they got promoted, but were never punished, as they remain in the Premier League.

‘Why should Leeds United play by the rules?” – Journalist

Moylan went on a rant when he was informed that Chelsea just sold their women’s team to their parent company for ÂŁ150m to comply with the Premier League’s PSR guidelines.

The journalist, who is also a Leeds fan, insisted that there is no point in Leeds playing by the rules when clubs are bending them or even breaking them without consequences.

He insisted Leeds should just flood the Championship with their spending if they do not get promoted this season.

“Do you know what, whether we stay up or go down, just do it”, Moylan said on the Square Ball Podcast.

“I have had enough of us playing fair, I am advocating for this stuff, I am sick of it.

“Just completely tsunami this division. If we end up down here next year, and if I haven’t driven up to Inverness and walked into Loch Ness, then just do it.

“I am sick of it.

“Forest are going to be in the Champions League because they cheated, and Villa cheated their way out of this division as well.”

Will the 49ers gamble?

The 49ers have been steady owners since taking charge of Leeds, and have been more or less careful about the money they have spent on the club.

They have big expansion plans for the Whites, and a lot of it is dependent on Leeds becoming an established Premier League club in the coming years.

However, they are yet to show the cavalier streak that Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis displayed to turn Nottingham Forest from a Championship side to a potential Champions League club.

Can you name the Leeds game these 10 goal celebrations are from?

Are the 49ers ready to gamble in such a way next summer and push the boundaries of financial rules either in the Championship or the Premier League?

Forest broke the spending rules in both the Championship and the Premier League, but could be playing Champions League football next season.

Moylan could be on to something.

The problem is you know for a fact if Leeds do that then the EFL/premier league will use that as an excuse to set an example because is Leeds. They always make an example when it’s Leeds as sue as day follows night we do that and get promoted it will be something like a 25 point reduction for us. Having said that I don’t give a toss what they do it only bonds the club and fans even more
