£25m Liverpool man ‘keen’ on Leeds United move for ‘fresh start’

Leeds United have already turned their attention towards the summer transfer window after ending their first season back in the Premier League with a 14th-place finish.

Daniel Farke has made it clear he wants the board to show ambition in the market as he looks to strengthen the squad and push the club forward over the coming months.

At the same time, Paraag Marathe has stressed the importance of building sensibly and sustainably, particularly with the Premier League’s Squad Cost Ratio regulations now in place ahead of next season.

Leeds are working on several targets, but they could now get a serious advantage in the chase for an attacking midfielder looking to leave Liverpool this summer.

Harvey Elliott ‘keen’ on Leeds United move

Harvey Elliott got a Europa League winners’ medal for Aston Villa without actually doing much at Villa Park, where he was on loan from Liverpool.

Arne Slot has already sanctioned his potential departure from the club, and Elliott’s representatives are trying to find a new club for him.

Leeds hold an interest in the talented attacking midfielder, and according to Football Insider, Elliott is ‘keen’ on a move to Elland Road this summer.

The player wants to prioritise regular game time over any other consideration while choosing his next club, and Daniel Farke believes he can offer him exactly that at Leeds United in West Yorkshire.

Elliott wants a fresh start in his career after a harrowing time at Villa, where the club stopped playing him once he was about to hit the appearances target that would have triggered an obligation to buy.

Leeds are interested in the player, and Liverpool are prepared to sell him for a deal worth around £25m in the upcoming transfer window.

He would be a gamble

The Fulham academy graduate is a talented attacking midfielder who has been unlucky this season due to circumstances beyond his control.

However, he has played very little football this season and will need enough time to get back into the rhythm of things at the start of next season.

Leeds gambled on Dominic Calvert-Lewin, and it paid off. A move for Elliott would be a similar punt as well, but more expensive.

Calvert-Lewin was signed on a free transfer, but Liverpool expect a deal worth £25m before agreeing to sell Elliott in the upcoming summer window.

It would make more financial sense for Leeds to sign Elliott if the Reds agreed to lower their financial demands for a transfer.

No! Terrible idea. I can only assume his agent or Liverpool’s has planted this story. He’s looked awful this year and 25 million is silly money for a small, poorly performing player. Leeds have far more important areas to reinforce
