Leeds United earned a point in north London after drawing 1-1 with Tottenham on Monday night, a result that also kept West Ham’s survival hopes alive.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin levelled things from the penalty spot after a lengthy VAR review, cancelling out Mathys Tel’s opener early in the second half.
Leeds nearly snatched all three points late on, too, but Tottenham goalkeeper Antonín Kinsky produced a brilliant close-range save to keep out Sean Longstaff.
A lot of people expected Leeds to ease off after securing survival on Sunday, but Daniel Farke’s side kept up their intensity from start to finish against Spurs.
Jamie Carragher makes a huge Leeds United prediction
The former Liverpool defender cannot get enough of the Leeds side this season and is delighted to see them survive in the Premier League.
Jamie Carragher has insisted that he was never worried about Leeds for some time because of the consistent results they have been producing despite being under the threat of relegation.
He stressed that Leeds have felt like a big Premier League club, and he is certain that they will soon establish themselves in the top flight in the coming seasons.
Carragher said on Sky Sports: “I said before the Manchester United game, I wasn’t worried about Leeds because I looked at their results.
“Even when they weren’t winning, they were not getting bad results, barring a defeat at home to Sunderland.
“Leeds are a tough nut to crack, they are a good team who play really good football, and they have been on a great run.
“They have lost just 4 games in their last 22 in the Premier League, that is some going for any team, let alone a newly promoted team. They have been brilliant.
“When certain teams come up, they feel like a Premier League club. Leeds have been in the Premier League, it feels like a big club who have a presence.
“Leeds feel like a Premier League club, the fans expect that, and I have no skin in the game with Leeds, but you want Leeds United in the Premier League.
“The next thing is for Leeds to establish themselves, and I think they can. I think Leeds will become an established Premier League side.”
The relegation race is still alive
Leeds’ performance on Monday night helped keep West Ham alive in the relegation battle, and the Hammers still have a real chance of climbing out of the bottom three.
Tottenham boss Roberto De Zerbi has already urged Leeds to show the same level of intensity when they face West Ham on the final day of the season.
Spurs now face a huge clash against London rivals Chelsea, who would no doubt love to edge Tottenham closer to relegation with a positive result.
But the survival battle could ultimately come down to the final day and how Leeds perform at the London Stadium against West Ham.
