Jesse Marsch targets another Red Bull player

According to Fabrizio Romano, Leeds have opened talks with Red Bull Salzburg for Maximillian Wober.

The journalist claims that the Premier League club will open talks to sign Wober in a deal worth €11million (£9.7million) plus €5million (£4.4million) in add-ons.

The Austria international made 68 appearances under Jesse Marsch at Salzburg. He can play centerback and can cover at left-back. Wober fits into Leeds’ plans, as Victor Orta and Marsch highlighted fullback as an area to address in the January window.

Transfers impact on Leeds United future

Summer signings Brendan Aaronson, Tyler Adams and Rasmus Kristensen are all products of the Red Bull group (Leipzig/Salzburg).

Where do Leeds go if Jesse Marsch does not end the season at Elland Road? He has already spent money on multiple signings from his former club Red Bull Salzburg. If he leaves, what happens to the players? We cannot assume the next manager will use them. Leeds should consider that before greenlighting any more deals.
