Leeds United crashed out of the EFL Cup after Chelsea beat them 6-3 at Stamford Bridge earlier tonight, with a second half that saw eight goals scored.
Tarik Muharemovic scored midway through the first half at Stamford Bridge to give Leeds a deserved lead against Chelsea, as the home side looked shell-shocked.
Brenden Aaronson doubled the lead in the second half, putting the away side in the driver’s seat in the third round of the EFL Cup tie. However, Cole Palmer scored a quick-fire brace to level things up in West London.
And Neto scored at the hour mark to complete a stunning turnaround at Stamford Bridge for Chelsea. Danny Welbeck scored five minutes later to almost kill the game for Leeds.
However, the away side were not done yet. Dominic Calvert-Lewin halved Chelsea’s lead with a goal in the 75th minute.
But Leeds’ hopes were dashed after Barco scored eight minutes later to restore the two-goal lead for the home side. Welbeck scored his second in stoppage time to make it 6-3

Jimmy Floyd-Hasselbaink hammers the Chelsea star after Leeds incident
Moments before Leeds opened the scoring, Chelsea goalkeeper Mike Penders came dangerously close to turning a Leeds set-piece into an own goal, nearly punching the ball into his own net.
The Chelsea players complained that Ethan Ampadu fouled the goalkeeper. However, former Chelsea and Leeds star Jimmy Floyd-Hasselbaink insisted that the Leeds captain did nothing wrong.
He stressed that Penders should have been stronger and should have tried to catch the ball rather than punching it.
Floyd-Hasselbaink said on Sky Sports: “Ampadu does not do anything. I think as a goalkeeper you have to be stronger there.
“He should have done better. You have to make sure that you really push the player away.
“For me, he has to come out and catch that. He gets there, and he puts a left hand to it, but it is a little bit weak.
“You are not going to get that free-kick and then from the next corner, Leeds score through a great header from Muharemovic.”

Michael Zetterer was shocking
Zetterer endured a debut to forget for Leeds and will be desperate to put this performance behind him as quickly as possible.
There was little the German goalkeeper could do about Cole Palmer’s penalty, but the same cannot be said for the three goals that followed. He will feel he should have done much better in all three situations.
Palmer’s second goal lacked both pace and precision, yet Zetterer barely reacted as the ball found the net. He was also unable to get anywhere near Neto’s curling effort, while Danny Welbeck’s strike was hit straight at him. The Leeds debutant somehow allowed the ball to squirm through his legs.
It was certainly not the kind of first appearance Zetterer would have envisioned, and he may have to wait some time for another chance between the posts after such a difficult introduction to life at Leeds.
