Leeds United finally found the net at Brighton for the first time in more than a decade, but the goal was not enough to earn the Whites all three points on the road.
Jayden Bogle scored from close range in the first half, and Leeds went into the break with a lead as they looked to notch up their second away win of the season in as many games.
However, Brighton pushed hard in the second half and new signing Luke Vuskovic scored from a corner. They had enough chances to score a winner towards the end, including Pascal Gros missing a sitter from yards away.
Leeds would be disappointed by some of the defending during the set-piece situation that led to Brighton’s equaliser, but they are going back to Yorkhire with an unbeaten record intact.
However, questions are being raised about Stuart Attwell’s refereeing after it appeared that James Trafford impeded in the build-up to Vuskovic’s equaliser.

Journalist questions major Brighton vs Leeds incident
Vuskovic towered over everyone to head in Brighton’s equaliser in the second half, and the home side probably deserved to go level as they were creating chances.
However, questions are being raised about whether the goal should have been disallowed, as James Trafford was clearly impeded in the build-up, preventing him from reaching Vuskovic’s header.
Even the Leeds goalkeeper appealed to the referee after the ball went in, but the goal was allowed to stand, and VAR didn’t feel there was enough for them to intervene.
Journalist Adonis Storr insisted that Lewis Dunk shoulder-barged Trafford in the build-up to the goal and it should have been enough to disallow the goal.
He wrote on X: “James Trafford was shoulder-barged in the back by Lewis Dunk, impeding his ability to get to the Vusković header.
“I thought shoving was getting clamped down on this season.”

Leeds should have done more with their chances
The Whites could complain about the referee, and another day Brighton’s equaliser could have been disallowed. But it would have been a soft decision.
Leeds should have done more with their chances in the first half, and Dominic Calvert-Lewin was especially guilty of missing a huge chance before the break.
Even Lukas Nmecha had a chance to steal all three points at the death, and the Whites have only themselves to blame for not securing another away win.
