Juventus open talks over move for Leeds star – player’s agent has been in Italy

Leeds United had a lot of players the club needed to move on from last year. The Whites failed to seal permanent exits in the last summer window.

Many of the exits were temporary deals, which saw most of the players make a return.

But the 49ers have done a solid job at ‘clearing house’ this summer, with many players leaving Elland Road. A number of them were not in Daniel Farke’s plans for the future.

Some of the transfers were beneficial to the club’s finances, with big contracts like Jack Harrison and Max Wober being offloaded.

Leeds also managed to get decent transfer fees from the sales of Pascal Struijk, Isaac Schmidt and Joe Gelhardt.

The Whites have been very particular about signing replacements when selling some players.

When Sebastiaan Bornauw asked to leave the club and HSV made an offer, the deal was on hold till Leeds United sorted out the move for Nico Elvedi.

Per reports, the 49ers are trying to sign Eintracht Frankfurt goalkeeper Michael Zetterer to come in as backup for James Trafford. But some other factors are involved in this deal.

Zetterer will replace Lucas Perri, but the Brazilian is yet to actually complete his transfer.

In another unfortunate delay, Torino are looking to sell a player before signing the 28-year old Leeds keeper. Perri’s agent has been in Italy trying to get the transfer over the line.

And now there has been another development.

Saturday’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport has revealed that Juventus have joined the race to sign Lucas Perri. The Serie A giants have made an approach to sign the Brazilian.

The Italian club are looking for an option to bring in on loan after Sky Sports confirmed that Michele Di Gregorio will fly to England to complete a loan move to Bournemouth.

Where does Lucas Perri go this summer?

The Brazilian has been expected to seal a deal ever since James Trafford arrived.

However, it has been followed by multiple delays; first it was his injury which pushed back a medical, and then the approach from Marseille also stalled the transfer deal.

Reports from Italy claim the deal has not been formalized with Torino yet.

Some final details remain as both sides work towards signing the keeper before the transfer deadline.

Juventus’ arrival may complicate things, but the Serie A giants will need to process things quickly if they want to stand a chance at hijacking the move.

No brainer. Get more money up front from Juventus. Loan with an option not great for us. Permanent or loan with obligation has to be the way.
