Ex-Manchester United star predicts Leeds to get relegated

Daniel Farke warned Leeds United fans on Thursday about this season. The German coach made it clear that increased expectations should be tempered.

The Whites only won promotion two seasons ago, and have just survived their first season in the Premier League.

But the 14th-placed finish at the end of last season seems to have convinced everyone that the team is better than they actually are.

Leeds did do enough to avoid relegation, but last year was a really poor season for a lot of teams in the top flight. The White managed to finish above Spurs, Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace.

Farke’s men kick off their campaign away to Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

Former Manchester United man gives Leeds United relegation verdict

Leeds United fans have a lot of hope and optimism going into this year.

The performances in pre-season have inspired a lot of the fanbase. The signings of James Trafford, Nico Elvedi, Tarik Muharemovic and Harry Wilson have also added some incredible quality to the team.

Each signing has improved upon the squad options from last year.

Some have are already predicting the club to finish higher than 14th, but others have a different opinion.

Former Manchester United star Ashley Young has made a huge claim that Leeds will be relegated in the 2026/27 season. He made this prediction when asked by ESPN UK about this season.

He also tipped his former club to end up as Premier League winners.

The season kicked off on Friday night, with champions Arsenal putting three goals past newly-promoted Coventry City.

Fans need to have realistic expectations

Considering the work that has been done this summer, predicting relegation is a stretch. Though Young might just have made this claim due to the rivalry between both clubs.

There are some in the fanbase who think this team is good enough to finish above 14th and even make Europe.

Others have had a more measured approach and think the team will finish in an around the same position.

But the objective for Leeds should be clear; they need to survive relegation once again. And the club have taken serious steps towards this with the investment on the pitch.

The 49ers want to make this club a consistent side in the Premier League.

George Best another former Manchester United man said “only fools predict the outcome of football matches” then he he joined the Soccer Saturday panel and did just that. Odds of probability according to the bookies who know a bit about financial security suggest tenth place may be expected but I wouldn’t bet on it.

Young thinks that Man Utd can win the PL. Haha That says all you need to know about his opinion that Leeds will be relegated. He’s living in fantasy land.

I would take as much notice of this prediction as I do to Gabbi Agbonlahor on TalkSport. Bang average player who thinks he knows everything about every club.
