talkSPORT presenter makes bold claim about Leeds new boy: “Signing of the summer”

Leeds United kick off their new season on Saturday, and everyone around the club is optimistic. The Whites have prepared well going into the new campaign.

Daniel Farke said that he is happy with the work done in the transfer market this summer.

He also hinted that the club will push for more as the deadline draws closer. Leeds are clearly not done with their business, and are in talks over moves with at least two more players.

Eintracht Frankfurt goalkeeper Michael Zetterer is on their radar, as well as Chelsea’s Mykhailo Mudryk.

Building on last year’s squad has been the aim in this transfer window, with the additions of James Trafford, Nico Elvedi, Tarik Muharemovic and Harry Wilson.

Leeds United have not been the only club that has strengthened their first team.

Farke’s men finished in 14th place in the Premier League, above the likes of Crystal Palace, Spurs and Nottingham Forest.

Each of these clubs have made some significant additions in this transfer window like many other teams in the league. This will make the Whites’ season more difficult than last year.

However, talkSPORT Rory Jennings believes that Leeds signing James Trafford will make all the difference this season.

“Bringing in Trafford, you could say that’s the signing of the summer.” he said on the That’s Football show on YouTube.

“They have signed a keeper who will most definitely be England’s number 1 in the next Euros and the World Cup.

“City won both domestic cups last season and he was the keeper.”

The James Trafford signing means a lot to Leeds

Leeds United signing James Trafford is a very big statement by the club.

They were able to land an England international from a top six side in the Premier League.

This 49ers project has proven to be a very attractive one to top players. Since their return to the top flight last year, the Whites have been able to sign many players despite interest.

Outside that, the club’s ownership have addressed a long-standing issue.

Before this summer, Leeds have lacked a real first choice goalkeeper. They have had to cycle through multiple options, with most having proven to be sub par over the years.

With Trafford in the team, fans can be confident he will be their long-term solution.
