This week, news emerged that Leeds United keeper Karl Darlow is now a serious target for Manchester United. It was not completely unexpected after what happened this past season.
Darlow was brought into the lineup, after summer signing Lucas Perri was benched after a series of errors. Daniel Farke once again trusted the veteran to stabilize results in the team.
The goalkeeper was brilliant in the final months of the season as Leeds avoided relegation.
Even in the final month of the campaign, rumours emerged that Spurs were interested in signing the Welsh international.
At the end of this month, Darlow will be a free agent, and could decide to leave Elland Road. Old Trafford seems to be the likely destination, with Michael Carrick’s side keen on adding an experienced keeper to the team.

Leeds United could lose Karl Darlow to Manchester United this summer
The news of the Manchester club having serious interest in the Leeds keeper was followed by huge news from the Whites’ camp.
James Marshment reported on Tuesday that Leeds have a new contract for Darlow and are ready to fight to keep him this summer. The keeper has not agreed to terms yet, with a few weeks to go until his contract expires.
Per journalist Adonis Storr, there are a few reasons why a move to Old Trafford could potentially sway the Leeds stopper.
Playing in European football is one, with Manchester United having qualified for the Champions League next season. It should also be considered that at 35-years old, his next contract would be his last.
Michael Carrick’s side could offer him more than he could potentially earn at Elland Road next year.

Decision will lie with first team star
Darlow’s next career move will depend on what he wants going forward. He can decide to stay at Leeds United, and earn a decent pay rise after his efforts in the Premier League last season.
An increase in wages, and being the first choice keeper for potentially another year is something he could be happy about.
At Manchester United, he will be a backup goalkeeper, as widely reported. But his wages ma exceed what the Whites currently have on the table for him.
Even if he does get a chance to play in Europe, it will be a handful of games.
