Leeds United are already being linked with potential reinforcements ahead of the January transfer window, and Daniel Farke is likely keen to add more quality to his squad.
The Whites have struggled to find consistency in the Premier League, particularly in midfield, where they need greater control and creativity to support their attacking players. Their recent performances have also highlighted the importance of having enough depth to cope with the demands of a long season.
Leeds are unlikely to be the only club looking to strengthen there. Several Premier League sides are assessing their options, and one player currently at Tottenham has emerged as a possible target for clubs looking to improve their midfield.

Leeds face competition from Aston Villa for Gallagher

According to Fussball News, Leeds, Aston Villa and Everton have all put Conor Gallagher on their watchlists ahead of January.
The three clubs are looking at ways to strengthen their midfield and view the former Chelsea midfielder as an interesting candidate. Gallagher joined Tottenham from Atletico Madrid for around €40m (£33m) and has become a regular member of their squad.
However, his role under Spurs’ current rotation system has not always guaranteed him a starting place. The 26-year-old has frequently been used from the bench, with his playing time varying depending on the demands of individual matches.
That situation has apparently attracted attention from elsewhere, although a January departure is far from certain. Tottenham are still planning with Gallagher and have little immediate reason to let him go, particularly given the significant investment they made to bring him back to the Premier League.
His contract also runs until the summer of 2031, putting Spurs in a strong negotiating position if any club decide to test their resolve.

Would Gallagher suit Leeds and do they need him?

There is certainly a case for Leeds pursuing Gallagher. He brings energy, intensity, and the ability to cover ground, while his Premier League experience would make him a relatively straightforward addition to Farke’s squad.
He could improve Leeds’ pressing, help them win possession higher up the pitch and provide greater competition in central midfield. His ability to arrive in the opposition box would also add another attacking dimension for the Whites.
However, Leeds already have several midfield options, including Anton Stach, Sean Longstaff, Ethan Ampadu, Ao Tanaka and Ilia Gruev. The question is whether Gallagher would represent a significant enough upgrade to justify the likely financial commitment.
Leeds arguably need more creativity and attacking output than another energetic midfielder. Gallagher is an excellent worker, but he may not solve their problems in the final third.
If Spurs want to recoup their fee, he would be a major investment. If Leeds can secure him at a sensible price, his quality and experience would be valuable. But they should not pursue him simply because he is available. Farke needs to identify exactly what his midfield lacks before committing that kind of money.
