Leeds United go into the final six Premier League games with a six-point cushion above the relegation zone and in a strong position to stay up.
Their 2-1 win at Old Trafford has lifted the mood significantly, and there’s growing belief they could wrap up survival as early as this weekend when Wolves come to Elland Road.
A win there would put them within touching distance of another season in the Premier League, especially with the teams below them struggling for form.
Victory over Manchester United has put Leeds in a comfortable position, while it has complicated matters for Tottenham, who are now in the relegation zone.
Jason Cundy makes a claim about Leeds in the relegation fight
Jason Cundy was without his radio partner Jamie O’Hara on the talkSPORT Sports Bar on Thursday night, with Jermaine Pennant replacing the former Spurs star.
Cundy has been making fun of Tottenham’s struggles over the last few weeks. However, he has conceded that he still thinks Spurs will stay up.
However, Pennant strongly disagreed, insisting he couldn’t see the north London side picking up the minimum six points they need to stay up.
He insisted West Ham, Leeds and Nottingham Forest will continue to nick a few more points in the last six games of the season.
Cundy acknowledged that Leeds definitely look safe at this stage of the season.
The former Chelsea star said, “Spurs are looking like they will go down, but I still think they will stay up.”
Pennant added: “No.
“I am looking at the games they have got; they need a minimum of six points, and I can’t see them getting six points.
“West Ham will win three points here and there, and Leeds are nicking points.
“Forest will nick points.”
Cundy admitted, “Leeds look alright.”

Daniel Farke had asked his Leeds players to get something from Old Trafford, and they delivered by securing their first league win there in more than 45 years.
He looked both relieved and delighted at full-time, with the result opening up a six-point gap above the relegation zone with just six games left.
A win at home to Wolves this weekend could take them a big step closer to Premier League survival.
Farke won’t worry too much about how it came, as those three points could be vital in shaping their season.
