Leeds United head into the final six Premier League games six points clear of the relegation zone and in a strong position to stay up.
Their 2-1 win at Old Trafford has lifted spirits, and there’s growing belief they could secure survival as early as this weekend when Wolves visit Elland Road.
A victory there would leave them on the brink of another season in the Premier League, especially with the sides below them struggling for form.
Daniel Farke has refused to take Wolves lightly despite their position in the Premier League table. However, Alan Shearer has made a strong admission ahead of the Elland Road clash.
Alan Shearer predicts Leeds to get the job done this weekend
The win at Molinex earlier in the season was Leeds’ only away win in the Premier League before they beat Manchester United on Monday night.
Wolves are almost certain to get relegated. However, their form over the last couple of months has been solid, and they are not going to be pushovers on Saturday.
However, Alan Shearer has stressed the importance of Leeds beating Wolves at home this weekend and securing Premier League safety.
He is expecting the Whites to carry the confidence from the Manchester United game and beat Wolves, who have been poor away from home despite their improved form.
Shearer wrote in his column for The Metro: “If Leeds win this, then they’re staying up.
“That’s the way they’ll view it, and I think the confidence that the win against Man United will give them will carry them through and be enough.
“It’ll be a cracking atmosphere at Elland Road. They know what’s at stake, and I think they’ll beat Wolves. Wolves have been poor. They’ve had a little pickup, but still away from home, I think they’re vulnerable.
“Prediction – Leeds win.”
Daniel Farke will want to get the job done on Saturday
The win over Manchester United has allowed Leeds some breathing room, and they may be one result away from guaranteeing Premier League safety.
They will be playing against teams such as Burnley and Tottenham in the final six games. But they will ideally want to finish the job at home against Wolves this Saturday.

A win this weekend is almost certain to take Leeds out of reach for teams such as Tottenham, who are sitting 18th in the Premier League table.
The six-point gap means Leeds can afford a couple more bad results. However, they would be desperate to get the job done against Wolves and feel more relaxed.
