Leeds United will be in the market for summer additions ahead of next season. It is increasingly looking like the 49ers are ready to splash the cash again.
When the team won promotion, there were concerns about the first team players being good enough to thrive in the Premier League. So the 49ers spent over £100 million to bring in 10 new players. And as far as the season has gone, most of these signings have had a huge impact on the team.
Every part of the squad got some quality additions; a new goalkeeper was signed, the team got some depth in defence, and Daniel Farke got Sean Longstaff and Anton Stach in midfield. The best business was arguably done in attack as Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Lukas Nmecha and Noah Okafor were all brought in – all three have contributed the most gals to the club this campaign.
Chelsea join Leeds United in race for £7m midfield star
And Leeds United’s ownership may be looking to add some more improvements to the team ahead of next season. The Whites currently sit well above the relegation zone with three games to go in the Premier League. Even with safety not mathematically confirmed, this weekend’s games could seal that.
Per reports, Leeds have been linked with Birmingham City midfielder Jhon Solis. The Colombian has been a sensation since arriving in the Championship on loan from Girona. He really impressed for the club in their FA Cup tie against Leeds United a few months ago. The Whites are said to hold serious interest in Solis, who is set to join the Championship side in the summer. Now, it is believed that Chelsea have joined the race to sign the 21-year old according to Mauricio Andres Luna on Twitter/X.

Whites could lose out in transfer race
When it comes to competing with big clubs with financial muscles, teams like Leeds United will almost always be second best. They will have the better project and can offer a player like Jhon Solis consistent minutes, but ultimately, Chelsea can wrap up the deal quickly with their buying power. If the 49ers want to show ambition, then they need to go all out to convince the player to sign; he would be a lovely addition to this Leeds midfield. The 21-year old has the technical ability and defensive work rate to be a hit in the middle of the park.
