Leeds United have been linked with many names in this transfer window as the 49ers are keen on quality targets. The club have gone about their business quietly in this window.

Only four players have arrived at Elland Road this summer.

However, the 49ers are not close to done as the club targets more additions heading into the new campaign.

Leeds begin their Premier League season away to Nottingham Forest this weekend. But the club no doubt have their eye on bringing in some new players before the deadline in over a week.

Reports have emerged that another attacking player is high on the list at Elland Road.

Leeds United keen on move for Chelsea star

News emerged that Leeds United were one of the clubs interested in a move for Liam Delap.

The Chelsea striker is out of favour, and has been left out of first team training in recent weeks. It is believed that he will be sold in this window, with a £50 million price tag rumoured.

YEP shot down this report, and indicated that the Whites are not interested in a move for Delap.

However, Friday has seen the club linked with a move for another Chelsea player. The BBC linked Leeds with a move for 25-year old Blues winger Mykhailo Mudryk this week.

YEP have now confirmed that there is interest from the 49ers. Mudryk joined Chelsea in a deal worth £88.5m from Shakhatr Donetsk in January 2023.

Leeds are keen on signing the Ukrainian international on a loan deal this summer. The exact details have not been confirmed, but the interest is there for the winger who returned to action this year.

Mudryk had a doping ban and only returned to training and competitive football in the last month.

49ers are serious about landing quality in this transfer window

Last season saw Leeds United focus on getting first team starters on a budget. The club averaged around £10 million per signing in last year’s summer transfer window.

This time around, the club have already spent in excess of £80 million.

And two of those fees have smashed last summer’s additions; £40 million for James Trafford and £34 million for Tarik Muharemovic.

Add Harry Wilson and Nico Elvedi and it is clear that this summer was aimed at getting in real quality for the Premier League level. And most importantly, these signings directly improve the first team.

If everything works out, Daniel Farke’s side will be difficult to beat in the top flight this year.

This might be one of the more far fetched stories of the transfer window. 🤣 Is this been reported by the same person who said Leeds were in for Delap?

Seriously? Rehabilitate a drug cheat for Chelsea sc*m? And risk it upsetting the dressing room? They need to think hard about that…
