Leeds set for modest windfall as European club set sights on first team ace

Leeds United goalkeeper Lucas Perri has been in limbo for the past few days. The Brazilian has been expected to leave Elland Road ever since James Trafford arrived.

The 49ers clinched a major deal for the England international.

Which meant that Perri had to find a way out in order not to be backup for another season. Last year, Karl Darlow took the Brazilian’s place in the middle of the season and never looked back.

Fortunately, Torino were in serious need for a new keeper ahead of next season and landed on Lucas Perri as a target.

For the last couple of weeks, the Italian club have been in talks with the 28-year old, and are believed to have agreed to personal terms.

European club set sights on move for Leeds United star

Perri has been expected in Turin for a medical over the last few days.

However, the deal has been complicated as Marseille have shown their interest in the Leeds United man.

The French club have made their proposal to Lucas Perri and his representatives. This has delayed proceedings, as Torino continue to wait on the Brazilian to make a decision.

Toro Goal in Italy have confirmed that Perri has recovered from injury and is ready to undergo a medical.

Foot Mercato have revealed that Marseille are now fully invested in a transfer deal for Lucas Perri. This comes after their pursuit of Toulouse goalkeeper Guillaume Restes ended.

The French club are looking to hijack the deal before Perri arrives in Turin to complete his move.

Reports claim that the 28-year old is yet to decide on his next destination and will choose between Torino and Marseille.

Marseille switch will favour the 49ers

Torino have already proposed a loan deal with an option to buy for Perri.

There were complications about the fee if the transfer deal is on track to be permanent, but that could be resolved.

Marseille on the other hand, are said to be interested in a permanent deal for the Brazilian keeper. The offer of Europa League football is another selling point the French club have over their counterparts.

Between the two proposals, the 49ers will prefer a permanent transfer.

That would allow them to recoup their losses on Perri, and get enough cash to spend in this window.

Leeds are already in search of a backup goalkeeper since the arrival of James Trafford. If a permanent deal for Lucas Perri goes through, it makes the job easier for all parties involved.
