Leeds United made their first big move of the offseason this week by signing Ethan Ampadu to a new deal. The club captain was one of a few players whose contracts were running down at Elland Road.

Ampadu has been one of the most impressive performers at the club this season, and has been rewarded for his effort. It goes in line with what Daniel Farke mentioned before the season ended.

After being questioned on the futures of the likes of Karl Darlow, he pointed out that Leeds would resolve that at the end of the season.

So Ampadu’s contract extension should give fans hope that a few could be down the line; Daniel Farke and Karl Darlow the major names left to be discussed.

Leeds United have questions over three first team stars this summer

Reports emerged this week that Leeds United were planning a summer spree that could see five new players arrive at Elland Road.

The club spent over £100 million last summer, and could spend more again. Club chairman Paraag Marathe has insisted that the ownership will continue to back the team on the pitch.

This summer will be a tricky one for Leeds to navigate, with the new Squad Cost Rules (SCR) set to replace PSR.

The Whites will have to be logical about their transfer business which will most likely see some big sales.

Per TEAMtalk, there are three players who could leave Elland Road this summer: Pascal Struijk, Karl Darlow and Wilfried Gnonto.

Why these three players could leave Elland Road

Karl Darlow is out of contract this month, and there has been no major news on his future at the club. Many are expecting him to stay after the wonderful job he did stepping in during the middle of the season.

Pascal Struijk is entering the last year of his contract, and per the report, Leeds see him as a valuable asset they can sell in the coming months.

There has already been interest from Premier League sides including Newcastle and Aston Villa.

Wilfried Gnonto could also be shipped, as the team looks to earn some funds for more transfers.

The winger was out of favour under Daniel Farke this year, and could struggle for a place in the team next season.

Italian clubs are reportedly keeping an eye on his situation as the summer window approaches.
