Leeds United have already had one major departure this summer window, which was confirmed this week. The Whites have sold Pascal Struijk to Brighton and Hove Albion.

Struijk remains one of the big success stories from Victor Orta’s transfer policy.

While recruiting for the firs team, Leeds also signed high potential youngsters from big clubs in hopes of developing them. They would start with the youth sides and work their way from the U21s.

Crysencio Summerville and Mateo Joseph are also players who took that track at Elland Road.

Struijk will reportedly join Brighton for a fee in excess of £15 million. Which represents a profit in the books at Leeds, with the defender having joined for around six figures from Ajax.

Leeds United star considering future amid Everton interest

The Leeds United star is not the only player set to leave the club this summer.

As of Wednesday, Karl Darlow is officially a free agent after his contract expired at Elland Road. Even though he has an on the table from the 49ers, he has yet to decide his future.

Sky Sports are now reporting that Everton have joined the race to sign Darlow this summer.

The club want to add to their goalkeeping department of Jordan Pickford and Mark Travers.

The Welsh international attracted serious interest from Manchester United who were keen on adding him. This latest report adds that the Toffees want to sign the keeper ahead of next season.

Sky Sports have said that Karl Darlow is ‘considering’ his options, which means a return to Leeds could be on the card.

The decision will now be down to Karl Darlow

When the keeper was still under contract, many were positive that Darlow would sign a new deal.

Now that he is a free agent, he holds all the cards.

Going to Manchester United or Everton means that he will be backup keeper next season. Both clubs have their first choice from last season, with no plans of changing them.

With Darlow’s age, maybe a move to a club with a better standing than the Whites could give him a lucrative contract.

If he does choose to return to Elland Road, it is most likely that he will remain as the club’s first choice keeper for at least next season. Leeds would then have to find a long-term option after that.
