Daniel Farke wants to add a versatile left-sided forward to his Leeds United squad before the summer transfer window closes on September 1.
Chelsea have rejected two loan offers from Leeds for Mykhailo Mudryk and have since ended talks with the Whites over a potential move to Elland Road.
However, Leeds remain open to restarting negotiations and believe Mudryk is very keen on joining them rather than moving to France, where Strasbourg are also interested.
The Whites are also working on other areas of the squad and are weighing up several options as they look to complete their remaining transfer business before the deadline next week.

Leeds United battle Celtic in pursuit of Canada World Cup star
Daniel Farke is known for his admiration for versatile players who can operate in multiple positions, and his pursuit of Shea Charles earlier in the window showed that he wanted a defensive midfielder.
Leeds are still in the market for backups to striker, goalkeeper and left-back, but the club are intriguingly looking at a player who does not play in any of those positions.
According to Croatian outlet SportSport, Leeds are among the clubs who are interested in snapping up Hajduk Split’s Canadian star Niko Sigur.
The 22-year-old played for Canada in the World Cup and is now on the radar of at least three clubs ahead of the transfer window closing next week.
Leeds are not the only club interested in Sigur, with Coventry City also entering the race, although Celtic remain the only side to have made a concrete offer for the player.
The Scottish champions have offered a deal worth about £3m, but Hajduk want somewhere in the region of £4.3m before agreeing to sell him.
Sigur can operate both as a right-back and defensive midfielder and is expected to leave Hajduk before the September 1 deadline.

Is this worth pursuing as a deal?
One could argue that Leeds also do not have a natural replacement for Jayden Bogle, with James Justin seen as the alternative both at right-back and left-back.
However, Leeds need a new left-back more than another right-back cum defensive midfielder, as Gabriel Gudmundsson’s fitness remains a concern.
The Whites also need a backup goalkeeper and a striker before the window closes, and it seems unlikely they will end up signing Sigur.
Maybe they are genuinely interested in the Canadian, but at the moment, they must pursue for more pressing needs of their squad.
