Many reports suggested that Leeds United would have made a last gasp move for a striker on deadline day. But unfortunately, that was not the case despite the Whites signing two players.
Melvin Bard was signed to provide cover and depth at left back, and Jean-Matteo Bahoya came in as a replacement for Wilfried Gnonto.
Leeds managed to sign six players in the summer window, but only two of them were attacking players.
The rest were additions to the backline, with no player signed to bolster the midfield. Beren Cross provided an update after the window that club sources are convinced no position needed immediate reinforcements.

Even with the addition of Jean-Matteo Bahoya, fans were disappointed with the lack of a striker.
Daniel Farke then confirmed that the plan was for Leeds United to bring in two or three players in the attack. But unfortunately, they managed to sign only the young Frenchman from Frankfurt.
”I don’t want to go into too much details, and also not to speak too much about positions any how. We wanted to add two or perhaps three proven senior players in the offence.” he said in Thursday’s press conference.
”We found really good additions with Harry Wilson and also a young prospect in Jean-Matteo.”
He also spoke on the depth of the squad, with how thin the numbers are at centre forward.
”Yes, one or two more additions in the offence would have been good but it has to be a player who helps us and is affordable. If not all boxes are ticked it makes no sense.”
”We were quite open and honest with what we wanted to do, but I’m very happy with players, they get all my backing of course. Fingers crossed that nothing happens with injuries.”

49ers solved crucial squad problems
Despite leaving it very late, the Whites have addressed two key issues with the Leeds squad.
Melvin Bard’s addition brings more versatility at the back; he can play left back/wing back and left centre back. There was concern that the team lacked options to play on the left, and the club have solved that.
Also in attack, Leeds had just Dan James and Wilfried Gnonto last season.
This summer, they have brought in Harry Wilson and Jean-Matteo Bahoya, two quality players.
Daniel Farke will now have more options to rely on as the season progresses.
