Anton Stach has returned to the German squad after former manager Julian Nagelsmann left him out of the World Cup squad in the summer.
Jurgen Klopp took charge of the German national team after their disappointing World Cup performance, and he has announced his first squad ahead of next week’s international break.
Stach has been rewarded for his consistent performances for Leeds and in the Premier League, and the midfielder is back in the set-up after missing out on the World Cup.
Nagelsmann never showed faith in the Leeds star, but now he has a chance to show why he should have been in the squad in the first place.
A chance to prove himself under a new manager
Anton Stach rejected offers from clubs with European football last year to join Leeds and was one of the Premier League’s best midfielders.
However, the German was not in the squad when Nagelsmann announced his World Cup squad, and Daniel Farke and Leed fans were not amused.
The midfielder got a good summer break and a full pre-season to prepare for the new campaign, and he has taken his game to another level this year.
It is no surprise that Klopp has rewarded Stach with a Germany call-up, as his performances have made him almost impossible to ignore.
The Leeds midfielder now has a chance to prove his worth to a new manager who is more receptive to Premier League players, given his success at Liverpool.
However, Stach has only been selected for the first two games against the Netherlands and Greece; he is not in the squad for the other two fixtures.
But if his form for Leeds is anything to go by, Stach will soon become a regular in the Germany squad in the coming months.

Daniel Farke hopes to have him back fit and ready after the break
The Leeds boss is likely to be delighted for his compatriot as playing for the national team is a huge honour for any footballer.
However, like most managers, he will keep a close eye on his players during the international break, as he won’t want them to pick up injuries.
Farke will be counting down the days until big players such as Ethan Ampadu and Anton Stach return, hopefully injury-free and ready for club action.
With the England squad announcement also due, Dominic Calvert-Lewin is one more Leeds player who could be busy during the international break.
