Leeds United star faces threat of two-game ban – the team do not have a natural replacement

Leeds United are flying high after scoring one more big win on Monday night when they beat promotion rivals Sunderland 2-1 at Elland Road. They now have a seven-point buffer over Burnley who are sitting just outside the automatic promotion spots and Daniel Farke has already identified the number of points his team need to ensure they return to the Premier League at the end of the season. Leeds are keen to ensure that nothing derails their journey back to the top flight but a few issues have cropped up. Farke will not be on the touchline at Sheffield United on Monday night after he picked up a third yellow card of the season against Sunderland. However, Leeds are also facing the threat of one of their most important players picking up a two-match ban in the coming weeks.

The Whites are looking like an unstoppable force at this stage of the season and it seems almost certain they will earn automatic promotion to the Premier League.

Leeds United boss Daniel Farke has been trying to control the anticipation around the Whites getting promoted and are keen to keep his players focused and grounded.

Last season’s playoff final heartbreak is still fresh in his memories and he is keen to ensure nothing disrupts the flow of his team as they look to return to the top flight of English football.

His touchline ban at Bramall Lane will be an issue but more importantly, a Leeds star is now facing the threat of getting suspended for two league games during the business end of the campaign.

Leeds United star will have to walk on eggshells in the next few weeks

Jayden Bogle has been one of the signings of the season for Leeds and has made a massive impact on the way the team have played in the ongoing campaign.

There were question marks over his defensive attributes at the start of the term but he has tightened his game while remaining a big threat in the opposition half.

Bogle is one of the certainties to play whenever he is fit and available and Leeds do not have another like-for-like replacement for him in the squad.

His marauding runs on the right flank have been one of the features of Leeds’ football this season and he is close to irreplaceable in the team.

However, Bogle is on nine yellow cards and if he picks up another caution before the end of Leeds’ 37th league game – Millwall at home – the defender will have to serve a two-match ban.

He served a one-game ban in November after picking up five yellow cards and will now have to be extra careful in the coming weeks to ensure that he escapes a harsher punishment.

If the defender picks up another yellow card against former club Sheffield United next Monday, he will have to sit out the clashes against West Brom and Portsmouth.

Leeds do not have a direct replacement for Bogle

Bogle has missed just two league games for Leeds this season and has started the other 31. He is an essential part of the way Farke wants his team to play.

His attacking instincts make him a key player for the Leeds boss and he has probably been the best right-back in the Championship. The defender has been so good, that Chris Wilder still laments Sheffield United selling him to the Whites last summer.

Leeds do not have a like-for-like replacement for Bogle in their squad. Sam Byram will likely slot in at right-back if the 24-year-old is not available but he is no Bogle.

Can you name the Leeds game these 10 goal celebrations are from?

Byram is a more defensive option and does not possess the same threat at the other end of the pitch, which is key to Farke’s style of football.

If Bogle picks up another caution in the next couple of weeks and is forced to miss two games, Leeds would believe that the team would be able to cope.

However, Bogle’s absence will be felt and Farke hopes that the defender escapes picking up another booking until the final whistle against Millwall on 12th March.

I think you will find Byram would be a natural replacement for Bogle as he is a natural right back. Also I am sure that Schmidt could do a good job, He looks up to the task. So your clickbait is not that great
