Leeds United star identified as dream target by surprise club

Shock news hit Leeds United this week when it was revealed that Karl Darlow will be joining Manchester United. The veteran keeper will not be taking the offer from the club this summer.

Since Darlow is a free agent, he can decide where he wants to go – and his destination seems to be Old Trafford.

The Whites have now lost their starting keeper for the back half of last season. Which will now accelerate plans to find a new first choice option for the coming campaign.

Alex Cairns has signed a new deal, which will keep him at Elland Road next season.

So the club will have at least two first choice keepers under contract just weeks before pre-season begins.

Major development emerges in Leeds United transfer plans

Leeds United have plans to bring in a new keeper this summer, among strengthening other positions.

This was the plan even before Karl Darlow’s contract expired last week.

The 49ers’ plans could change even more with the latest transfer news. According to TorinoGranata, Lucas Perri remains a target for Serie A side Torino this summer window.

The club have tried to land Paraguay keeper Orlando Hill, but the move seems to have hit a stumbling block.

Perri is one of the options available to the Italian side, who are considering other targets.

However, Lucas Perri is a ‘dream’ signing per the report – there is doubt that Torino will be able to afford a transfer. The Brazilian’s wages especially, are a huge factor in the conversations.

So unless something drastically changes, the Leeds man is out of reach for now.

What happens to Lucas Perri this summer?

Lucas Perri was supposed to be Leeds’ first choice last summer.

He was brought in for a big fee and even bigger expectations. After the events that lead to Illan Meslier being dropped in the promotion race in the Championship, something needed to be done.

Perri was okay in his first few months of the club, before injury disrupted his season.

When he came back, he looked a different person, shown in the injuries he made towards the end of last year. Farke once again made the big call to bench the Brazilian for Karl Darlow

The word at Elland Road this summer is that Leeds want a new keeper, showing their lack of confidence in Perri.
