Leeds United have plans for their midfield this summer and have already made one big move in that regard. Harry Wilson was officially announced as a Whites player this week.

After over a week, fans were anxious to see when the deal would be confirmed.

Leeds have been after the Welsh international since last summer. They almost signed him on a permanent deal on transfer deadline day before Fulham pulled the plug.

Wilson arrives as a free agent and signs a four-year deal.

His signing was necessary as the team needed a player with output after the season the other attacking options had. Wilson can fit in out wide, and operate behind the striker which will be interesting for Daniel Farke.

The club are also monitoring another attacking midfielder in Julian Brandt, but no approach has been made. Brandt is said to be exploring his options as he is a free agent this summer.

Midfielder prioritizes Leeds United move despite interest

Leeds United are continuing to push to sign Southampton midfielder Shea Charles.

The Whites have already had two bids rejected for the Northern Ireland international. The Saints believe that Leeds are far from the valuation they want from the 23-year old.

Charles is in the final year of his deal, and Southampton are said to want a fee in excess of £23 million.

Alex Crook reported this week that Fulham and Crystal Palace have joined the race. Mail Sport has given an update that Shea Charles wants the Leeds United move over other suitors.

Whites are prepared to walk away from Shea Charles

Leeds do want to sign the midfielder, and are firmly in the race for him despite the two rejected bids. The latest on Charles is that the club are biding their time as they want a sensible deal.

“Delay Charles, we should call him because this one is taking time.” Smyth said on the Elland Road podcast.

“Leeds are obviously being very patient, and the reason for it is that they believe they can get a deal done.”

“Leeds’ position is that we want him, he is a very good player, but he has a valuation.”

The report from Mail Sport also indicates that the 49ers are ready to walk away from the table if Southampton insist on a price tag outside their valuation. The club are ready to explore other targets.
