After finishing in 14th place last season, Leeds United will now look forward to their second season in the top flight. The club have plans of remaining a Premier League side going forward.
And this time around, the team know the task ahead of them.
Back in 2020, after Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds side comfortably survived in their return to the top flight, the summer window that followed was poor. The club failed to make any improvements on the team.
Daniel Farke pointed to this at the end of last season where he urged the club to match his ambition.
It was among his concerns he voiced out to the ownership as his future was under discussion. The Leeds boss is under contract until 2027, but is open to staying long-term.
Leeds United and the current goalkeeping situation
Reports suggest that Leeds United could sign five or six new players this summer.
One has already been ticked, after Harry Wilson joined the club as a free agent. The Whites are said to be in the market for a goalkeeper, a center back, left back, another midfielder and striker.
The goalkeeping department has caused some concern for the club in recent weeks.
Leeds have gone from four keepers last season, to just two first team options under contract this week. Illan Meslier has left the club, and recently joined Premier League winners Arsenal on a free transfer.
Lucas Perri and Alex Cairns are the only first team keepers at the club as pre-season approaches.

Why Karl Darlow left Elland Road
Karl Darlow’s departure came as a bit of a surprise to Leeds fans.
Many thought the veteran would stick around and continue after the season he had last year. Lucas Perri started the campaign as first choice, but injuries saw him miss a lot of time.
Darlow stepped in multiple times last season, eventually becoming first choice under Farke.
But he has now chosen to join Manchester United on a free transfer, where he will be a backup option behind Senne Lammens.
According to Mail Sport, Karl Darlow turned down a return to Elland Road because Leeds United could not guarantee that he would be first choice. The Whites wanted him to stay, but could not give him that assurance.
The club now have to look in the market to sign a first choice goalkeeper ahead of the new season.
