As reported over a week ago, Leeds United have already began working on potential targets ahead of this summer. The team will be keen to bolster this side at the end of the season.
The Whites’ recruitment saw them pick up solid depth and starters this past campaign. Finishing above the relegation zone, alongside an FA Cup semi-final is a success, and now the club must aim for stability. Stuart Dallas recently mentioned that the reason Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United side went downhill after 2020 was because the team failed to improve in the transfer market. So the 49ers and the recruitment team have a serious job on their hands if they want to follow up what happened this campaign.
Leeds United join race for Leicester City star
Daniel Farke’s Leeds United side last season thrived on wing play, with the wingers and fullbacks contributing a lot when it came to goals. This season was much different; most of them underperformed, which lead to the switch in formation. The only wide player who gave a good account of himself this season is Noah Okafor; who scored eight goals in all competitions.
The Whites could now be looking to bolster the wide areas, as talkSPORT have linked them with Leicester City youngster Jeremy Monga. Monga broke into the first team at just 16 years old this season, and has managed a goal and two assists this past season in the Championship. With the Foxes going down to League One next year, multiple clubs have lined up to sign the young winger.
According to the report, Leeds will battle Manchester United, Arsenal and Newcastle, as well as Bayer Leverkusen and Liepzig in Germany.

Whites hold an advantage in transfer race
At Monga’s age, getting a club that trusts in you enough to give consistent playing time is key. And compared to all the other clubs mentioned, Leeds United can offer him a more direct path to the first team. The club currently needs some quality and depth in wide areas, looking at their options this past season. Dan James has been injury prone, and Wilfried Gnonto could be set to leave after not getting enough playing time. This could potentially open the door for the England U19 star. The progress of Archie Gray and Harry Gray in recent seasons will play a role in where the youngster decides his future.
