Daniel Farke has every reason to be unhappy with Leeds United’s goalless draw against Crystal Palace at Elland Road on Sunday.
The Whites went into the game riding high after their outstanding 4-1 victory over Newcastle United, while Palace arrived in Yorkshire struggling for form. The visitors had lost three of their first four league matches and conceded 11 goals during that difficult run.
Despite the contrasting fortunes of the two sides, Palace looked the more comfortable team for long stretches. Leeds lacked the tempo and urgency that had been so impressive against Newcastle, with Farke’s players struggling to create enough in the final third to seriously test the visitors.
Palace did find the net, although the effort was correctly ruled out for offside. Even so, Pierre Sage’s side will have been delighted to come away from Elland Road with a point and a clean sheet, particularly after the defensive problems they had shown in the opening weeks of the campaign.

Leeds United star gets called out live on BBC
An incident in the first half at Elland Road on Sunday came under the scanner after Tarik Muharemovic fell over after Quinten Timber appeared to catch his face with a straying arm.
However, the replay suggested it was the faintest of touches, and the Leeds defender tried to oversell the contact to attract a yellow card for the Palace man.
BBC commentator Guy Mowbray was having none of it and pointed out that it was probably the faintest of touches on his chin from Timber.
He was not pleased to see the Leeds centre-back trying to oversell it and stressed that given his physical frame, he shouldn’t have fallen over in such an embarrassing manner.
“Was there anything to look at? Oh no, there wasn’t”, Mowbray said on commentary.
“The hand may have caught him somewhere around the chin, but look at Tarik Muharemovic.
“He is enormous; he is a man mountain; he shouldn’t be falling over like that because of the faintest of flicks.”

Muharemovic should cut this out
The centre-back has been a rock in the Leeds defence since he joined in the summer transfer window and has been indispensable to the team.
However, Muharemovic should know better and cut this aspect of his game out. For starters, it looks embarrassing that a player of his size fell over at the slightest flick of a hand on his chin, and secondly, he could soon develop a poor reputation.
If he continues to play act to get decisions, referees may soon start ignoring genuine fouls committed on him because of his reputation.
The defender should cut this out of his game, as it could soon affect how referees treat him in the league.
