Leeds United have officially secured their Premier League status after West Ham’s 1-0 defeat at home to Arsenal on Sunday.
With survival now confirmed, the club have already started planning for the summer transfer window and are looking at several potential targets before the season comes to an end.
Unlike last summer, Leeds are not expected to overhaul the squad, but they are still aiming to strengthen several important areas ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
Leeds are almost certain to sign a striker, and have a strong interest in Juventus’ Lois Openda. However, the club are also considering raiding their Premier League rivals Sunderland for a solution.
Wilson Isidor is on Leeds United’s radar ahead of the summer
The 25-year-old striker has been a bit-part player at Sunderland this season, making just 11 starting eleven appearances in the Premier League.
He has scored five times in the top flight this season and remains a highly-rated forward despite his struggles to get into the line-up at the Stadium of Light this season.
According to Football Insider, Wilson Isidor has emerged as a potential target for Leeds ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.
Leeds want to sign a striker and are open to raiding Sunderland to take Isidor to Elland Road ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The forward made his last Premier League start in December and could look to move on from Sunderland in the summer for more opportunities to play.
Leeds are looking at several strikers, and Isidor is a potential target because of his Premier League experience.
Sunderland are also interested in bringing in a new forward, potentially leaving Leeds with an opening to sign Isidor in the summer window.
The Whites will only push to sign the forward if Sunderland agree to accept a reasonable transfer fee in the coming months.
He is a better option than Openda
Leeds are ready to make a significant financial commitment to sign Openda from Juventus in the upcoming summer transfer window. However, there is an argument that Isidor could be a better target.
Both strikers have struggled this season – Openda at Juventus and Isidor at Sunderland. It is safe to say that if Leeds had more money to spend, they would be unlikely targets.
However, the Sunderland striker has experience of playing Premier League football, while Leeds would be buying Openda in the hope that he could replicate what he did in Germany.
If Leeds are ready to gamble on a striker, it would be better they take a punt on someone who already has Premier League experience than someone who has never played in English football.
