A lot of moves this week have changed the transfer plans at Leeds United. Pascal Struijk’s exit was a huge blow, but the club needed to complete that transfer for financial reasons.

The search for a new goalkeeper has become even more important, with Karl Darlow nearing a move to Manchester United.

Per reports, Leeds have plans of adding a new stopper, and one defender, with a midfielder and a center forward high on the list. So far the club have only signed Harry Wilson.

Club chairman Paraag Marathe did indicate that there would be a more logical approach to this window.

Which means that there will be inevitable departures before the Whites will be able to spend big. Leeds need quality in the team as they hope to survive the Premier League for another season.

Major update emerges in Leeds United transfer plans

It is clear from Leeds United’s moves that midfield is an area the club want to improve upon.

From last season, Daniel Farke was not really happy with the options in the middle of the park. Outside Anton Stach and Ethan Ampadu who were constants, the rest were a rotating cast.

Ilia Gruev, Sean Lonstaff and Ao Tanaka occupied that third midfield spot as the season went on.

The Whites have already brought in Harry Wilson; with the former Fulham man joining on a free transfer. He will bring goals and assists; having contributed 19 goal involvements for the London club last season.

Shea Charles is another player Leeds are seriously pursuing. They have had two bids rejected, but will still push for a move.

One player that fans at Elland Road can completely rule out this summer is Kalvin Phillips. Per Mail Sport, Leeds have no plans of bringing back the midfielder – he is on his way to Sheffield United.

Kalvin Phillips not returning to Elland Road is for the best

Kalvin Phillips has been linked with a return since he left to join Manchester City.

There have been links every summer; with the closest he was to coming back in the summer of 2024. He was apparently waiting for the club to win promotion to the Premier League.

Not signing the former Leeds man has been the best decision.

He has not been the same ever since he left the club so many years ago. Phillips has struggled to impress even on his loan spells; last season with the Blades, he managed just three appearances before being ruled out of the season with injury.
