Leeds United saw their attacking unit revamped from the end of last season. The Whites’ summer window saw a number of players introduced to the first team.
Despite having one of the best attacks in the Championship, almost none of them made it to the Premier League. Golden Boot winner Joel Piroe has been a bench player so far, and could be set to leave Elland Road in the summer. Daniel James has struggled with injury and Wilfried Gnonto has been out of favour so far. Manor Solomon returned to his parent club.
Largie Ramazani was shipped out on loan in the first week of the Premier League season, and Mateo Joseph was left out of this season’s plans after refusing to show up from pre-season.
Daniel Farke breaks silence on Leeds star this season
Leeds were able to strike a deal with Mallorca for Joseph to arrive on a season-long loan. The forward showed flashes during his loan spell, and managed two goals and three assists in La Liga before being ruled out for the season with an injury.
His future at Leeds United is not known, but Daniel Farke’s comments this week give a fair idea of where the youngster will be come this summer.
”At the moment my full focus is just on the players here and our task, I’m not willing to speak on anything in the future, loan players, potential signings, recruitment or whatever,” Farke said when asked about Joseph this week.
“I will speak about this in detail once both competitions are over and we’ve achieved what we want to achieve. In this case, fingers are crossed and best of luck of course to Mateo because when there’s such a serious injury all our hopes and support are with the player.”

Mateo Joseph’s days are numbered at Elland Road
There have been reports that Mallorca could be interested in a move this summer, and Joseph’s recent comments also point to that. But at this point, there is no confirmed contact between either party. But from what Farke has said, it is unlikely that the Spaniard plays any part at the club heading into next season. His saga last summer would be playing on the 49ers minds, which could see them reluctantly move the 22-year old when the window opens. Whatever happens in the next few months will be interesting to monitor as a Leeds fan.
