Leeds United extended their unbeaten run to six games after they played out a 0-0 draw against Liverpool at Anfield to start 2026 on a positive note.
Daniel Farke’s men remained 16th in the table after they earned another point on the road. Leeds have now drawn their last three games away from home.
It was another solid performance as Leeds kept Liverpool out at Anfield and created a couple of decent chances themselves. However, a draw was a fair result on Merseyside.
The performance showed how much the Whites have improved in the last few weeks. They have a cushion over teams in the relegation zone and are only looking forward in the Premier League.
Micah Richards makes honest Leeds United admission after Liverpool draw
Former Manchester City defender Micah Richards believes the 0-0 at Liverpool is a massive result for Leeds, given their form on the road this season.
He insisted that Leeds are often accused of being a set-piece team, which is contrary to the goal they scored against Sunderland in the 1-1 draw at the Stadium of Light.
Richards stressed that Daniel Farke deserves massive credit for the way he has been setting up his team in recent weeks and getting results consistently.
Richards said on Sky Sports: “That’s a massive, massive result for them. The manager deserves great credit for the way he sets up his teams.
“A lot of people have been saying Leeds have only got one way of playing with set-pieces, but the goal they scored against Sunderland was outstanding.
“A really good performance from them as a team and collective.”
Leeds are only growing stronger
Leeds’ dismal away form was a concern earlier in the season. However, they have away with a point each in their last three trips on the road at Brentford, Sunderland and Liverpool respectively.
They have remained strong at home and are the more confident side going into Sunday’s game against Manchester United at Elland Road.
However, their improved away form is a sign of how the team have improved in the last few weeks and have become tough to beat again.
Leeds are increasingly looking like a side who are not going to be worried about relegation towards the end of the season as they continue to pick up points.
A six-game unbeaten run has been forged through steel and hard work, and they will look to extend the run when they take on the Red Devils on Sunday.
