This summer Leeds United have sold two players, something they struggled with last year. The Whites have been criticized by their own fanbase for being poor at selling players.

Pascal Struijk was allowed to join Brighton for a fee said to be around £15 million.

Isaac Schmidt was sold to Young Boys, after an unsuccessful spell at Elland Road. It is believed that Leeds did not make a financial loss on the books when moving the Swiss defender.

Last year really saw the club struggle to move players.

They managed to get transfer deals for Diogo Monteiro and Sam Greenwood. The other players that left only managed to get temporary move during that transfer window.

Surprise club target move for Leeds United star

Max Wober, Isaac Schmidt, Largie Ramazani, Joe Gelhardt and Mateo Joseph were among the players who left Elland Road.

All of them returned after the end of the season. Leeds United have now moved on two of them as Wober terminated his contract and Schmidt was sold to the Swiss league.

Ramazani, Gelhardt and Joseph remain under contract, but all three were left out of the pre-season camp in the US.

Valencia have interest in a move for Largie Ramazani and are willing to wait till the end of the window. Hull City have cooled interest in a move for Gelhardt this summer.

According to Flavio Pace of Gol Digital, Mateo Joseph is on Elche’s radar this summer.

The La Liga side are keen to move for the Spain U21 forward, but nothing concrete has been confirmed. Joseph is undergoing recovery after picking up a serious injury while on loan at Mallorca last season.

Mateo Joseph is not in this season’s plans

With his current injury, the forward will miss the start of the new season.

He will not be part of Daniel Farke’s plans considering how he left Elland Road last summer. Joseph refused to join pre-season camp before joining Mallorca.

Leeds will also likely add another center forward, and with Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha as the first choice options, it will be unlikely that Joseph gets any playing time.

From reports around the club last year, Mateo Joseph is valuable considering the interest from other clubs – Wrexham almost paid £10 million for him.

The best decision for the 49ers would be to sell him while his value is still high.
