Leeds United are continuing to work on strengthening their squad ahead of the new Premier League season, with negotiations ongoing for a number of transfer targets.
Much of the attention over the past week has centred on James Trafford.
The Whites moved quickly to open talks with Manchester City over the England goalkeeper, and negotiations have gathered pace ever since. Trafford has already given his approval to the move, paving the way for the deal to progress.
The two sides have also reached agreements on personal terms, including his salary and the structure of a release clause.
Only the final details now need to be resolved before the transfer can be completed. Alongside their pursuit of Trafford, Leeds remain keen to sign free agent Julian Brandt and continue to explore several other targets as they look to strengthen Daniel Farke’s squad.

Liverpool star breaks silence on future amid Leeds United links
Leeds have been linked with a move for Liverpool attacking midfielder Harvey Elliott since last summer, when he joined Aston Villa on loan.
He is currently with the Liverpool squad in their pre-season tour of the United States and is looking to impress new Reds boss Andoni Iraola.
The Whites have again been tipped to sign the attacking midfielder this summer, but Elliott has conceded that he is still unsure what will happen this summer.
He stressed that after his experience at Villa, he would want to be more careful about his decisions, and he will speak to Iraola soon about his future.
The Red insisted that he would do what is right for his future, even if it means that he has to leave Liverpool this summer.
Elliott was quoted as saying by The Athletic: “I’m not sure yet what’s going to happen (regarding his future).
“That’s a conversation for me to have more in detail with the gaffer. When the time is right, I’ll go and ask.
“I’m just giving my all and trying to impress.
“Going forward, I need to be more kind of cautious with my decisions. I have to do what’s right for me, whether that’s staying here and fighting for my place, or whether that’s potentially going elsewhere.”
Harvey Elliott is worth a gamble for Leeds
Harvey Elliott remains a hugely talented player despite enduring a frustrating campaign last season.
The Liverpool midfielder spent the year on loan at Aston Villa but struggled for regular opportunities, while Arne Slot had already made it clear that Elliott was not part of his preferred midfield options at Anfield, which prompted the temporary move in the first place.
Still only 23, Elliott has the quality and versatility to operate both in midfield and further forward, and there is little doubt about his ability at Premier League level.
What he needs now is a club willing to give him consistent minutes and the chance to rebuild his career. Leeds could offer exactly that, providing him with the platform to rediscover his best form. Whether that opportunity materialises, however, will depend on whether the 49ers decide to make their move.
