Leeds United and Manchester United are set to clash at Elland Road in a big Premier League game later this afternoon, expected to make headlines.

Another defeat for Manchester United, after their worst league start in 40 years, could hasten Michael Carrick’s departure from Old Trafford.

Leeds will have to focus on their performance and try not to pay heed to the headlines about a struggling Manchester United side ahead of the game.

Carrick’s side still have enough individual quality to hurt Leeds. However, another devastating prediction has questioned the overall quality and the lack of heart in the Manchester United players.

talkSPORT pundit takes huge swipe at Man United and predicts Leeds to batter them

Rory Jennings, a vocal Chelsea fan and a regular on talkSPORT, has insisted Manchester United are the worst side in the Premier League and any team would love to play against them.

He expects the Leeds stars to play them off the park and batter them at Elland Road later today.

While he didn’t go full Chris Sutton, Jennings predicted a comfortable 3-1 win for the home side.

“Manchester United are the worst side in the league at the moment”, Jennings said on The Club.

“If you want to pick an opponent, you’d want to play Man United.

“I am not joking; Calvert-Lewin and Ampadu are going to beat them up. The South Stand will go potty.

“I think Leeds will batter them; 3-1 Leeds.”

Leeds must not get complacent

Leeds United have every reason to believe they can beat Manchester United at Elland Road, but they must avoid letting their opponents’ struggles and pre-match predictions create a false sense of security.

Michael Carrick’s side have endured a difficult start to the season, and many pundits back Leeds to take advantage on home soil. Yet form often counts for little in a fixture with this much history, and Manchester United still have players capable of punishing even the smallest mistake.

Leeds will need to bring intensity from the first whistle, win their individual battles and make the most of the atmosphere at Elland Road. They cannot assume Manchester United’s inconsistency will automatically lead to another poor performance.

There is also a difference between being confident and becoming complacent. The home crowd will expect Leeds to go for it, but that makes discipline just as important as aggression.

The predictions mean nothing once the game begins. Leeds must earn the right to win it.
