“The job is not done…” – Ethan Ampadu delivers warning to teammates ahead of Burnley clash

Leeds United have a huge chance to bounce back following their FA Cup exit last weekend. They are back in league action at Elland Road on Friday.

They face Burnley, who will be without Scott Parker. Their former manager was sacked midweek, and Michael Jackson will take over for the rest of the season. Friday night’s game presents a huge chance for Leeds to take another step towards safety. Even with their three-game unbeaten run, the Whites are not mathematically safe. A win at home could change a lot going forward.

Ethan Ampadu warns teammates ahead of Burnley clash

Ahead of the game, Leeds captain Ethan Ampadu has warned his teammates about complacency going into the game. Anything other than a result on Friday night could have consequences.

“The great thing about football is you have always got another step forward and the job is not done yet,” Ampadu said to LUTV.

“We are still very much focused on making sure that in these last four games, we can give us a great chance to win all of them.

“We know that they are going to be difficult team. They have shown that in games and no matter what has happened, they turn up to try and get a result, and to try and win.

“They beat us earlier in the year so we want to get a bit of revenge for that. They are not going to want us to win, as with any game of football, so I do not think their situation changes anything so we have got to expect the very best Burnley.

“Friday night under lights at Elland Road is always a special atmosphere for us to play in. We want the fans to be themselves and be behind us as they always are.”

Leeds need to avoid complacency on Friday

Friday is a bigger game than most Leeds fans see it to be. They absolutely need a win going into their final three games; a win would give them a huge cushion. The Whites play Spurs and Brighton in their next two games after Friday. Ethan Ampadu is right to rally the troops before the game at Elland Road. Leeds are very impressive at home and they need to make it count ahead of this weekend. A win also puts pressure on their relegation rivals going into this upcoming round of fixtures.
