Leeds United have ramped up their efforts this summer and want to bring in a few new signings before pre-season preparations begin next month.

Daniel Farke and the Leeds recruitment team have pressed the accelerator in their efforts to improve the squad, and work is underway on multiple signings.

Leeds have held positive talks with Harry Wilson and have offered him a significant pay rise to move to Elland Road on a free transfer this summer.

The Whites are also in negotiations to sign Southampton’s Shea Charles. However, the club have now received a green light to pursue a top centre-back this summer.

Nico Elvedi wants to join Leeds United

Leeds have been heavily linked with a move for Switzerland and Borussia Monchengladbach centre-back Nico Elvedi in the ongoing transfer window.

The 29-year-old defender has emerged as one of the top targets for Leeds, who are keen to add more experience to their rear guard amid the uncertainty around Pascal Struijk.

And according to Football Insider, Elvedi is keen to join Leeds United, following his return from the World Cup this summer.

He will enter the final year of his contract at Gladbach this summer and is prepared to seek a fresh challenge ahead of the new season.

A move to Leeds appeals to him because of Daniel Farke, who previously coached him at Gladbach.

There is mutual admiration between the two, and the centre-back is keen to reunite with the German coach at Leeds this summer.

Elvedi also wants to prove himself in the Premier League at this stage of his career, and a move to Elland Road is something he is keen to consider.

Leeds will now have to work out a fee with Gladbach and hope to secure a deal to sign the experienced defender this summer.

The Whites need some clarity on Pascal Struijk

Daniel Farke would like Pascal Struijk to stay at Leeds United, but there is still no definitive answer on what the defender plans to do next.

With the transfer window entering a crucial phase, Leeds are keen to gain clarity on the situation. The club cannot afford to spend the summer waiting for a decision, only to be left scrambling for a replacement if Struijk decides his future lies elsewhere.

Farke and the Leeds hierarchy will ideally want the matter resolved before pre-season gets underway next month. Knowing where they stand would make it easier to shape their transfer plans and avoid a major uncertainty hanging over the squad during an important period of preparation.

Struijk remains one of the club’s most influential players, so the ongoing speculation is far from ideal as Leeds gear up for a new Premier League season. Whether he chooses to commit his future to Elland Road or pursue a move away, a swift resolution would be in everyone’s best interests.
