Leeds United are heading into the summer window knowing they will be in the Premier League next season. Now the 49ers have a job to do in the transfer market.
Last summer saw the team add 10 new first team players. And almost all of them have had a positive impact on the team. This Leeds side have done very well for their first season back in the top flight.
So it will not be a surprise this summer if some teams come sniffing around the Whites’ best players. The likes of Ethan Ampadu and Pascal Struijk have already attracted some attention going into the transfer window.
Former Leeds United man tips £10 million ace tipped for Elland Road exit
Jaka Bijol, Gabriel Gudmundsson, Anton Stach, Noah Okafor and Dominic Calvert-Lewin have been some of the standouts in the team. All these summer signings have played a big part in this campaign.
Going into the summer transfer window, former Leeds United man Stephen Warnock has said that clubs could be sniffing around a player like Gabriel Gudmundsson.
“It’s difficult to place him [among the best left-backs] in the Premier League because he’s a wing-back.” Warnock said to the Yorkshire Post.
“I think he’s suited to that role more so than anything, but I do think there will be clubs looking at him in the Premier League, thinking ‘yeah’. He’d certainly be one that teams would look to poach.”
The Swedish international has made 35 appearances in all competitions, scoring one goal and providing one assist.

49ers would be crazy to let Gudmundsson go
The 27-year old has always been available and consistent this season, but towards the end, he has picked up some problems. And Leeds do not have any natural left footed options in his position. James Justin has almost exclusively been used on the right flank by Farke.
Heading into the summer, the 49ers would be crazy to even listen to offers for Gabriel Gudmundsson. He was an incredible signing, and has provided so much value for how much he cost to add during the summer.
Getting a backup for the left back should be the priority for the team heading into the summer transfer window. Almost every position in the squad has adequate depth, and the owners could improve on that if they want to have a better season next year.
