Leeds United are preparing for their last home game of the season, as they host Brighton. The Whites have clinched Premier League safety after the events of last weekend.

Daniel Farke’s side have had a successful season, after avoiding relegation and even reaching the FA Cup semi-final. The club are in 14th place in the league and could finish even higher if they get maximum points in their final games.

Up next for them is Brighton, with Fabian Hurzeler’s men with one eye on finishing in a European place. The Seagulls are currently in 7th in a qualification spot for the Europa Conference League, but have not clinched anything with Brentford just two points behind.

Brighton confirm injury blow ahead of Leeds United game

So Saturday’s game will have more at stake for the away side, but Farke’s men have shown they will remain competitive. Against Spurs on Monday night, they were safe, but still competed and got a point away from home.

Going into this game, Farke will be without a few key Leeds United players. Noah Okafor will miss the game alongside Pascal Struijk, who is set for surgery and out for the season. Gruev is also out, and Jayden Bogle could also miss the game.

On Thursday, Fabian Hurzeler confirmed that Kiromu Mitoma has been ruled out for Saturday’s game: “He [Mitoma] will be out. He will miss the next two games,” the Brighton boss told Sussex World. “Regarding the World Cup I’m not sure yet. We will be in touch with the Japan federation. It is a big blow.” he told Sussex World.

Leeds can wrap up their season on a high

After reaching an FA Cup semi-final, and clinching another season in the top flight, the season can be considered a really successful one. Daniel Farke and his men can put the icing on the cake with a win in their final home game of the season on Saturday.

Unfortunately for the club, they will be missing some key players like Okafor and Pascal Struijk but this team has always shown fight. They have gotten results without key players before and this weekend will not be different.

The prospect of ending the season with a great performance in front of the home crowd is something every player will hope to achieve. Leeds’ last game at Elland Road ended in celebration, and the club will be keen to repeat the same atmosphere this weekend.
