Leeds United will be looking to end their home season on a high when they take on Brighton at Elland Road on Sunday, intending to deliver another strong performance and pick up all three points.

Daniel Farke’s side proved against Tottenham on Monday night that they are not planning to take their foot off the gas despite already securing Premier League survival.

Leeds worked tirelessly to earn a point in north London, even as Spurs continued to complain about the controversial penalty decision late in the match.

Brighton are chasing European football, and are the favourites to win on Sunday. However, they are dealing with several injury headaches ahead of the Leeds trip.

5 Brighton stars could miss Leeds trip

Brighton will need to win on Sunday to keep their hopes of Champions League qualification alive. But they will be up against a Leeds side who have lost just four games in the last 22.

The Seagulls also have several injury headaches, and Fabian Hurzeler will be sweating over the fitness of a few players ahead of taking the trip to Elland Road.

Kaoru Mitoma picked up a hamstring injury in the win over Wolves last weekend, and Hurzeler conceded that it didn’t look too good.

The winger is unlikely to be fit for the Leeds game and is almost certainly out for the rest of the season, as things stand.

Brighton also decided against risking Mats Wieffer against Wolves, and there is no confirmation on whether he has recovered from an ankle problem.

They are also trying to ease Diego Gomez, who has been recovering from a knee injury, back into action.

Adam Webster and Stefanos Tzimas are also recuperating from separate knee injuries at the moment.

The Whites would want a strong finish at Elland Road

Brighton comfortably beat Leeds 3-0 at the Amex earlier this season, but the Whites have improved massively since then and have become one of the toughest teams to beat in the Premier League over the past six months.

Sunday also marks Leeds’ final home game of the campaign, giving the players even more motivation to send the Elland Road crowd home happy.

Daniel Farke will make sure his side maintains the same intensity and approach the game to finish their home season with a win.

Brighton may look stronger on paper, but Leeds at Elland Road in their final home match of the season will be far from an easy opponent, regardless of what the Opta predictions suggest.
