Leeds United have secured another season in the Premier League, and the 49ers already have plans. News has emerged over the last two weeks about the summer transfer window.

Club sources have revealed that the club is focused on drawing a list of targets for the summer window. Stuart Dallas mentioned how Leeds’ mistake with Bielsa back in 2020 was not backing him in the market.

So the 49ers have to continue to improve this team using the transfer market. Last summer saw the club bring in 10 new players who became an important part of the first team. Even with the success this season, there are some parts of the squad that need additions going forward.

The club need to address some serious concerns, including the goalkeeping position. Three first team options are out of contract in the summer as Alex Cairns, Karl Darlow and Illan Meslier are set to be out of contract.

Manchester United join race for Leeds United target

Leeds United were linked with Borussia Dortmund star Daniel Svensson over the last few months. The 24-year old has had a successful campaign; getting four goals and two assists in all competitions. And that seems to have attracted a lot of suitors.

According to Global Transfer News Expert Ekrem Konur, Manchester United have joined the race for Svensson. Per his report, scouts from the club have observed him multiple times this season. The Red Devils are said to be keen on adding cover at left back going into next season.

Arsenal, Liverpool and Atalanta are the other clubs interested in the Swedish international. Borussia Dortmund will reportedly value the player around £35 million this summer.

49ers must find backup for Gabriel Gudmundsson

Gabriel Gudmundsson has been a solid addition to this Leeds United team. The left back has played a huge role, and has been available for most of the campaign. But his absence is always felt as the club lack a natural left footed replacement.

Daniel Svensson is a good player, but at his current price tag, he is overpriced to be a potential backup to Gudmundsson. Leeds need an option to fill in for the Swedish international heading into next season. And Daniel Farke prefers to use James Justin on the right flank.

Getting a new left back should be priority, especially as Sam Byram is set to leave Elland Road when his contract is up in a few months. Addressing that position should be key going into the summer window.
