It has been very difficult for some attacking players to thrive under Daniel Farke in recent seasons. Some fit his style one year and find themselves on the fringes in the next campaign, while others become automatic starters.
When Leeds won promotion from the Championship, that season saw them have one of the best attacking units in recent history. A front four of Solomon, Aaronson, Piroe and James dominated the Championship.
Wilfried Gnonto was also key as he provided a spark coming off the bench.
All that attacking football and goals raised expectations for the Premier League, but Farke ended up using a far more different system; Leeds toned down on attack numbers and changed personnel following a thorough transfer window.
With Dominic Calvert-Lewin leading the line with Noah Okafor, the team scored 49 goals and managed to survive. But the new system meant that the goalscoring was difficult; three players (Calvert-Lewin, Okafor and Nmecha) carried the burden last year.

And it was very unfortunate for those who lost their place despite being the best performers in the Championship the previous season. Joel Piroe was benched, Brenden Aaronson was used in midfield and Wilfried Gnonto was barely used.
Largie Ramazani, who had a decent run to end the promotion campaign was not given a chance in the Premier League as he was loaned out.
After returning from his loan in the summer, he refused to report for pre season and waited out a move. Burnley swooped in to sign him on a season-long loan on deadline day.
The winger has two goals and an assist in eight games so far. In an interview ahead of Burnley’s game this weekend he was brutally honest on his performances this season and has said he can do better.
“I can perform better. It’s just me, I’m just holding myself [to a higher standard]. It’s the me thing.” he said via Burnley Express.
“I know I can do better, I can provide more. I can help the team. I can win games. I just haven’t been able to do that yet, but that will come.”

Ramazani deserved more chances under Farke
When the winger came in a few years ago he was treated as a big deal. With the money the 49ers spent on him many thought he would make an impact right away; his first few games were decent but then injuries and fitness disrupted his campaign.
The form of Solomon and Dan James throughout that season also kept him on the bench.
Despite all this, the winger managed six goals and two assists.
After promotion he was never heard from again; loaned out at the first chance, Farke decided to go with James and Gnonto who combined for less than two goals last year.
Ramazani had six goals on loan at Valencia. One would wonder what would have been if the winger was trusted at Elland Road instead of being loaned out.
