Leeds United made the conscious effort to add depth and quality when the team were promoted to the Premier League. 10 new signings were added to the first team when the Whites were promoted.

Coming up from the championship, it was expected that the club would do some fine tuning. They also lost many players that helped make their promotion campaign a success.

After spending over £100 million, the team was able to land some solid players to boost the squad.

Guys like Anton Stach and Gabriel Gudmundsson came in and made an immediate impact. Dominic Calvert-Lewin was also a huge part of the team’s success.

But it was not only the starting players that contributed right away; it took a while but some of the fringe players showed their importance to the team.

James Justin was a signing that many questioned when he arrived later in the window. He initially came in as a backup fullback who could play on both flanks.

But as the season progressed, Farke found his versatility key to the team’s success, playing him at centre back.

Lukas Nmecha was also one of the surprises of last season. The German came in as a backup forward, but early in the season he proved his importance to Daniel Farke.

Nmecha ended up among the top three scorers for Leeds last season alongside Calvert-Lewin and Okafor.

After an impressive first season in England, the striker now looks set to leave. Since the start of the campaign, his contract at the club has been discussed.

Reports that the club is yet to reach an agreement emerged over the last few weeks.

Now, Football Insider are reporting that Lukas Nmecha is set to leave Elland Road, with an eye on a return to the Bundesliga.

FC Koln have been linked with the German, after their two of their starting forwards picked up injuries. There is no word on if Nmecha will leave the club in January or in the summer as a free agent.

Nothing is going to change soon for Lukas Nmecha

Nmecha is likely to leave Leeds United next summer; he never had the chance to become a starter in the team.

Farke made his role pretty clear during last season, mostly using the German for cup games and off the bench.

The striker remains a good player, but at a club that prioritizes Dominic Calvert-Lewin, there is no chance that Lukas Nmecha magically becomes a start.

So his only option will be to leave Elland Road for a team where he will be guaranteed more minutes. Unfortunately for Leeds fans, they will be losing a key role player.
