The 49ers are already planning for the future as Leeds United navigate the end of the current Premier League season. As things stand, the Whites are close to confirming survival.
Despite their win over Burnley and winning 43 points this campaign, the club are not mathematically safe. This coming weekend could shape everything at the bottom of the table. As things stand, it looks like Spurs and West Ham are battling to avoid the last spot in the bottom three. And this weekend, they both have difficult games that could decide Leeds’ fate.
Spurs will host Daniel Farke’s side on Monday night, but before that, West Ham take on Arsenal, knowing a slip up could decide their season. With three games to go, anything can happen in the Premier League.
Leeds United prepare club-record bid for Premier League star
Just weeks away from the end of the season, Leeds United have been linked with multiple moves ahead of the summer transfer window. The club are eyeing upgrades on the team heading into next season. Their recruitment in the last summer has helped the team stay really competitive at the level like the Premier League. The likes of Anton Stach, Jaka Bijol and Dominic Calvert-Lewin have performed above expectations.
According to TEAMtalk, the Whites are preparing a club-record £35 million bid for Wolves midfielder Joao Gomes. Rob Edwards’ side have been relegated and plan to cash in on some of their best talents. In recent weeks, Leeds have also been linked with Santiago Bueno and Ladislav Krejci. The report also adds that Wolves are ready to part ways with Gomes, with a player already lined up to replace him in the team next season.

Joao Gomes would be a needed addition in midfield
Daniel Farke has clearly been after a different profile in the middle of the park; he has preferred to use Ethan Ampadu and Anton Stach consistently. But the third midfielder has been a role passed among the likes of Sean Longstaff, Ilia Gruev and Ao Tanaka. Each of these three have their ability, but the club need one more attacking addition in the middle of the park. Gomes is an all-action midfielder who can win duels, progress the ball and provide an attacking threat near the box. Leeds would be upgrading their depth by adding the Brazilian, especially with Ao Tanaka linked with an exit.
