Leeds United signed seven new players in the summer to improve a squad that finished 14th in the Premier League table last summer, and a few of them have already made an impact.
James Trafford is an obvious upgrade on the goalkeeping options Leeds had last season, and Nico Elvedi has already shown his class in his limited appearances.
Harry Wilson has yet to make a proper impact with his performances. However, he is expected to come into his own over the course of the season and deliver the goals and assists Leeds expect from him.
But Tarik Muharemovic is turning out to be one of the best signings any Premier League clubs have made this season, and the defender has looked the part for Leeds in the first few games.
However, Leeds could have easily missed out on signing him in the summer.
Arsenal considered signing Tarik Muharemovic in the summer
Leeds brought in Tarik Muharemovic from Sassuolo this summer in a deal that could rise to £34m, with the defender arriving to fill the void left by Pascal Struijk following his move to Brighton.
The centre-back has made an impressive start to life at Leeds, and his early performances suggest the club may have found a genuine upgrade on Struijk rather than simply bringing in someone to fill his spot.
He is left-footed, comfortable on the ball and is often in the right place, making the correct decisions under pressure in defence.
According to the BBC, Arsenal seriously considered signing the centre-back before he joined Leeds in the summer transfer window.
The Premier League champions were in the market for a centre-back, and eventually signed Aston Villa and England defende Ezri Konsa.
However, Muharemovic was a player who was on Arsenal’s radar. They opted to bring in someone with Premier League experience.
Leeds probably would have missed out on Muharemovic if Arsenal had made a concrete offer for the centre-back in the summer.

Leeds have a class player on their hands
Tarik Muharemovic’s performances at the start of the season are a huge compliment to the work Leeds United’s recruitment team carried out to sign him.
The £34m is a bargain given the fees Premier League clubs have splashed out this summer, and it’s a testament to the operation behind the scenes at Elland Road.
Leeds have a class player on their hands, and he has taken the team’s defence to another level this season. They look even harder to beat with Muharemovic in the team.
The Whites will have to progress as a team, as clubs with bigger pockets will come for Muharemovic in the near future if he remains this consistent in the Premier League.
