Preparations would have ramped up behind the scenes at Leeds United as the club look forward to another season in the top flight. Last summer saw massive recruitment.

10 players were brought into the first team, in a complete revamp. The additions played a key role in the Whites’ survival.

Jaka Bijol, Gabriel Gudmundsson and Anton Stach were solid starters. Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Noah Okafor provided the threat and the goals up front. James Justin and Lukas Nmecha were also solid options off the bench.

Going into next season, Daniel Farke has already asked the club to back him on the pitch.

Leeds failed to do that when Marcelo Bielsa kept the team up in 2020, and they declined and eventually got relegated two seasons later.

Asking price revealed for Leeds United target

Per SportsBoom, Leeds United have been linked with a move for Liverpool star Harvey Elliott. The midfielder is coming back from a horrid loan spell at Aston Villa this past season.

The 23-year old only got 304 minutes total, and scored just one goal.

Per the report, Liverpool will welcome bids around £26-30 million for Elliott who has gained interest across Europe.

Sunderland, Coventry City, Leeds United and RB Leipzig are said to be the main suitors for the young midfielder. No official talks have commenced, but it is believed that the next few weeks will be key.

Elliott did not make the England squad for the World Cup, and so negotiations over a deal will be more simplified.

Elland Road could be perfect for Harvey Elliott’s career

Elliott is at a point in his career where he really needs a club to really cement his place for the future. The midfielder was an important piece for Liverpool and was knocking on the door of England.

This recent loan spell at Aston Villa has derailed a lot of things and now he needs to get back on track as quickly as possible.

He could have a similar story like Ethan Ampadu if he does choose to join Leeds United. The Welshman was also in the same predicament, never having a permanent club and always out on loan.

When he joined Leeds on a permanent deal, everything changed for him – he has grown from strength to strength and is now a key player under Daniel Farke.

Harvey Elliott’s quality will also be a huge boost for this side, who need help in midfield and attack.

Has he told you he is eager to join Leeds? There is nothing in this poor article to suggest anything to that effect?
