Leeds United were in the relegation scrap in the final weeks of the season. When they returned from the last international break, they were just a few points above the bottom three.

The Whites clinched their safety just a few games before the campaign, but ultimately played a huge part in what happened in the rest of the season.

Leeds face Spurs in the final weeks, held them to a draw and denied them a chance to clinch safety. And on the final day of the season, the Whites lost to West Ham but the Hammers went down.

Another coincidence was that in the final games of the season, the club faced three of their former players.

Archie Gray, Crysencio Summerville and Georginio Rutter all left in the summer transfer window in the year Leeds won promotion. Gray went to Spurs, Rutter to Brighton and Summerville to West Ham.

Daniel Farke faced these three teams in the final weeks of the season.

Leeds United eye move to bring back Crysencio Summerville

The only one out of the three who got a chance to play at Elland Road was Georginio Rutter.

The Brighton star got applause when he was warming up during the game, and did a quick lap to appreciate the fans after the match.

When the trio left that summer, the fanbase were not pleased. But ultimately the team won promotion to the top flight.

West Ham will be playing in the Championship next season, and per reports, could be forced to sell some of their best performers.

Leeds United are assessing a potential move for Crysencio Summerville according to SportsBoom. Per the report, no official decision has been made, but people around the club are open to the idea.

He would cost a bit, with four years left on his deal but move is not impossible.

Daniel Farke could do with some firepower

Last season, Leeds’ wide options were very disappointing. Noah Okafor was the only one that stood out among the pack.

The Swiss winger was a serious goal threat, and was direct anytime he was on the ball. Going into next season, the club need another player like him and Summerville fits the bill.

The value may be a stumbling block, but the 49ers have splashed the cash before.

Daniel Farke cannot go into next season relying on just Dan James and Wilfried Gnonto once again.
