Daniel Farke has fulfilled his remit of keeping Leeds United in the Premier League this season and has shut down his detractors with a 14th-place finish.
The Leeds manager wants to see more ambition from the club in the upcoming transfer window, and the club are keen to back him with funds in the market.
Farke has some key calls to make this summer, both in terms of the new signings he wants to bring in and the futures of several players already at Elland Road.
However, Largie Ramazani has added to his headache ahead of the summer transfer window, and the Leeds loanee has not made another great impression on the Farke.
Daniel Farke will be fuming with Largie Ramazani
Farke revealed last summer that it was Ramazani who wanted to return to Spain after Leeds sanctioned his loan move to Valencia.
The Belgian’s form in the second half of the season led to suggestions that Valencia would push hard to re-sign him in the summer window.
Leeds have been more than willing to sell him as the Belgian does not have a future at Elland Road and were looking forward to talks with Valencia.
However, the Spanish club have decided against pursuing a deal to sign Ramazani in the upcoming summer transfer window.
The winger left a bad impression towards the end of his loan spell with his behaviour and attitude behind the scenes, and they are happy to watch him return to Leeds.
This is a major headache for Farke, who does not rate him and does not have a space in his squad for a pure winger such as Ramazani.
With Valencia now off the table, Leeds will now look to find a new buyer for the winger who burned his bridges with Farke last summer.
He has to leave Leeds this summer
Farke’s decision to shift systems in the middle of the season changed the course of the campaign for Leeds, but made pure wingers in the squad surplus to requirements.
Wilfried Gnonto and Dan James became surplus to requirements and bit-part players, and Noah Okafor was refashioned as a central forward.
Ramazani has no place in the current Leeds set-up, and the Whites would hope that Norwich City’s interest in him is genuine this summer.
Leeds and the player’s representatives will have to find a solution soon rather than allow it to spill over to pre-season.
Farke didn’t rate him when Leeds were in the Championship and is unlikely to want to reintegrate him following complaints about his attitude from Valencia.
It is one headache the Leeds boss would prefer to avoid when he returns from his break just ahead of pre-season training.
