Daniel Farke is surely not a big fan of the international break after what happened this week. Leeds United could be without one first team player as they prepare for this weekend.

The Whites are back in Premier League action against Arsenal.

Jean-Matteo Bahoya picked up an ankle injury on international duty with no timeline on when he could return. Leeds also lost Harry Wilson before the break, as he had a quad injury before the Palace game.

There is some positive news as Joe Rodon is set to return after a long layoff.

The international break allowed some Leeds United players to get back into form after a slow start to the season.

Jaka Bijol has been immense for Slovenia in their Nations League campaign, and Dan James also scored for Wales. Both players have been out of favour in recent weeks, but their performances will definitely send a message to Daniel Farke.

Speaking about the Leeds boss, he will be more than pleased with what happened with England during the break.

James Trafford was given a chance as number one as Thomas Tuchel assessed his options alongside Jordan Pickford. And Dominic Calvert-Lewin played a total of 20 minutes in four games.

One would ask why Calvert-Lewin being on the bench is a plus for Leeds.

It is simple, keeping him fit and fresh for the upcoming run of games would have been the priority for everyone at Elland Road. The former Everton man has had his fair share of injury problems in recent years.

So getting Dominic Calvert-Lewin back with little to no minutes played in four games is a huge deal.

Striker situation needs to be assessed ahead of January

This season has started well for Leeds United; Daniel Farke and the club chose to go with Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha.

Calvert-Lewin is in fine form, while Nmecha has also contributed off the bench.

But there is the feeling that Leeds are light up front. Both players have been fit so far, but any injury to either player means that Farke will have to use another attacker in a different role

Depending on how the season goes from now till January, the 49ers may need to dip into the market.
