Leeds United supporters could do with some positive news as the club continue to run into obstacles in the transfer market this summer.

A move for Parma goalkeeper Zion Suzuki has fallen through after the Japan international opted against joining Leeds amid interest from Juventus, while Karl Darlow is still yet to commit his future by signing a new contract.

The Whites are also facing a difficult battle to land Julian Brandt, with the former Borussia Dortmund playmaker keen to continue playing European football next season.

There is at least one deal ready to be completed. Harry Wilson has agreed a four-year contract with Leeds, but the club are still to make his arrival official.

Leeds United set to announce Harry Wilson in the next 24 hours

Harry Wilson has been a major target for Leeds since last summer, when he almost joined the Whites on deadline day only for Fulham to pull the plug on a deal.

He had a brilliant last season at Craven Cottage, but once it became clear that Marco Silva would be leaving, Wilson was not going to sign a new contract.

Leeds have had an agreement in place with Wilson for weeks, and the winger has even signed a four-year contract with the club.

As sources speaking exclusively to The Leeds Press have confirmed, the club are now set to announce the winger’s arrival on a free transfer in the next 24 hours.

All agreements have been finalised, and Wilson only has to carry out media duties before Leeds can unveil him as their first signing of the summer.

Leeds believe they have pulled off a coup to convince Wilson to move to Elland Road, amid interest from clubs in and outside England.

The winger will be one of the top earners at Leeds.

A huge signing for Leeds

One of Leeds United’s biggest shortcomings last season was their inability to break down teams that were happy to sit deep and defend.

Daniel Farke put together a well-organised side that was difficult to play against and dangerous on the counter, but whenever Leeds controlled possession, they often lacked the creativity needed to turn that dominance into clear-cut chances.

It is easy to see why the 49ers made Harry Wilson such a priority this summer.

The Wales international brings a dimension Leeds have been missing. Farke already has plenty of industrious midfielders who can press, cover ground and do the defensive work, but what the squad has lacked is a player capable of unlocking tight defences with a clever pass while also chipping in with goals.

Wilson looks tailor-made to fill that gap. His return of 11 goals and eight assists for an inconsistent Fulham side last season underlines the quality he possesses and suggests he could make an immediate impact at Elland Road.

His versatility is another major bonus. Comfortable on either wing, in the No. 10 role or as an advanced midfielder, Wilson would give Farke more tactical flexibility and provide Leeds with another genuine creative spark in the final third.
