The past few weeks have seen rumours of a lot of potential exits from Leeds United. Daniel Farke has already made some decisions on the future of key players.
Mateo Joseph has already decided his own future; after asking for a transfer, he refused to report to camp in Germany. The youngster is now in the UK waiting to sort out his future. Farke has also told Patrick Bamford that the striker is not in his plans ahead of next season.
And in a shocking turn of events, Jack Harrison has been offered a second chance. Daniel Farke has said the 28-year can work his way into next season’s plans with his performances this summer.
One exit that is about to be confirmed is Isaac Schmidt. Werder Bremen have agreed a loan deal with the defender. The move came out of nowhere, but was expected after the fullback played less than 90 minutes combined last season.

Daniel Farke needs replacement to complete transfer deal
Per the report from Sky Germany, Leeds will accept the offer for Schmidt this summer. But Daniel Farke has asked for a replacement before he can give a full green light to the deal. As for now, the news is that the fullback is going on a season-long loan. But there is no word if there is an option to buy.
Leeds have recently been linked with Leicester City fullback James Justin. Sources say he is high on the list of options the club are looking at to fill the hole Isaac Schmidt will leave.

According to Graeme Bailey, Leeds could have another option to assess in their fullback list. Lyon star Ainsley Maitland-Niles has reportedly been offered to the club as he eyes a return to England.
“Leeds are one of the clubs who have been offered Ainsley Maitland-Niles. I’m told lots of Premier League clubs have been offered him. He’s the sort of player Leeds need in terms of both full-back positions.” he told Leeds United News.
“Leeds are one of the teams who have been offered him. He’s available, intermediaries doing the work, he’s been pushed to a few clubs. What I can say, is he does want to come back to England,” he added.
Maitland-Niles would be a solid option
The fullback has now solidified his role moving on; he previously wanted to play in midfield. But he has turned out to be a well-rounded defender.

Maitland-Niles is the modern fullback, he can defend and attack while offering an extra man in midfield when he inverts. He could provide a suitable backup option to both Jayden Bogle and Gabriel Gudmundsson next season.
